The United States Bicentennial Silver Uncirculated Set was issued for the country's 200th birthday. It holds the three Bicentennial coins, a quarter, a half dollar and a dollar, each struck in 40% silver at the San Francisco Mint and dual-dated 1776–1976.

The coins are still sealed in the original Mint holder. This set comes with its red "United States Bicentennial Silver Uncirculated Set 1776–1976" envelope and the Mint's information insert.

Historical Significance

For the Bicentennial, the U.S. Mint gave the quarter, half dollar and dollar special reverse designs, chosen through a national design competition: a colonial drummer on the quarter, Independence Hall on the half dollar, and the Liberty Bell over the Moon on the dollar. As well as the circulating versions, the Mint struck 40% silver collector versions for sets like this one.

About 4.9 million of these three-coin uncirculated sets were produced.
